[11주 아기의 초음파 영상이 생명을 살렸다]
미국 휴스턴에서 2월 13일에 있었던 일, 죽음의 위기에서 생명을 건진 이야기입니다.
부부가 함께 낙태시술소로 향했습니다. 입구에서 어떤 사람으로부터 ‘다운타운 임신지원센터’ 안내카드를 받았습니다. 그 카드 한 장이 이 가족의 진로를 바꾸었습니다. 낙태시술소로 들어가지 않고 카드에 적힌 임신지원센터를 방문했습니다. 상담자에게 그들이 적당하지 않은 때에 기대하지 않은 임신을 했다고 무거운 마음으로 이야기를 했습니다. 초음파 진단을 제안했을 때 받아들여서 아기의 영상을 보게 되었습니다. 임신 11주인 아기는 팔을 휘두르고 춤추듯 몸을 움직였습니다. 이 4차원 초음파 영상을 보고는 임산부는 아기를 낙태하지 않고 낳기로 했고 남편도 안도의 한숨을 내쉬었습니다. 부부는 생명과 가족과 신뢰를 선택했습니다. 밝은 미소를 띠고 임신지원센터를 나서는 두 사람의 모습은 얼마나 아름다운 광경인지요. 오늘 그 두 사람은 미래에 대해 더 큰 소망을 발견하게 된 것입니다.

Both parents of this baby were heading into the abortion clinic this morning. on their way in, they were handed a card to the Downtown Pregnancy Help Center. Holding on to one last mustard seed of faith, they chose to turn around and head this way. Their hearts were heavy as they told their story of wrong timing and unexpectancy. They chose to have an ultrasound and were amazed by the image of their 11 week baby dancing and throwing a left hook! After seeing the ultrasound below, mom chose to keep her baby and dad sighed with relief. They chose life, family, and trust. What a beautiful sight it was to see them leave the center with joyful smiles. Today they found a greater hope for their future.
