이것이 진정한 페미니즘이다.
미국 'Feminists for Life' 부회장 샐리 윈(Sally A. Winn)이 여성의 날을 맞이해서 아일랜드까지 원정을 갔습니다. Feminists For Life mark International #WomensDay at Dáil Éireann #ProWoman #ProChild #ProLife #WomenDeserveBetter
The Vice President of Feminists For Life of America, Sally A Winn was in Ireland this week and teamed up with a number of women to mark International Women's Day at an awareness event outside Dáil Éireann yesterday.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Winn said: "International Women's week is a perfect time to recognise the universal truth that abortion is not a solution, but merely a symptom of a greater problem. Abortion masks the unmet needs of women and allows society to turn their backs on any responsibility to women."
She said "Abortion will do nothing to address the mental health needs women may be challenged with. Instead we need holistic, women-centered solutions. Together we must stand in solidarity and refuse to choose between women and their children, because women deserve better than abortion."
Anne Maree Quinn of Women's Initiative For Life said the Government's plan to legislate for abortion in Ireland “completely disregards the expert evidence at the recent Oireachtas Hearings on abortion”.
She said: “It is inconceivable that the Government would press ahead with legislation for abortion on grounds that are not evidence-based but could in fact put women's lives at risk.
“The review published earlier this week by psychiatrists at the Mater Hospital, examining the records from the three Dublin maternity hospitals over a 60 year period, found that no woman died by suicide because she was pregnant. Yet the Government is proposing to bring in abortion on a 'threat of suicide' ground – the very ground which has opened the door to wide-ranging abortion in other countries. Women deserve better than this.“As we mark International Women's Day this week, it is interesting to note that more women than men support legal protection for the unborn child as shown in the recent poll by Millward Brown, commissioned by the Pro Life Campaign. The findings showed that 64% of women supported protection for the unborn as opposed to 62% of men.”

More info: Midland Health Board brings young mother for abortion
on Tuesday, 16 December 2003, the life of an Irish unborn child was ended. In this case, a health board, the Midland Health Board, had a teenage girl in their care. The girl became pregnant. The Health Board then had two persons in their care. Their solution, instead of protecting both, which was their duty, was to seek the death of one of them.
What is different here is that the Health Board was representing the citizen: it was not the action of individuals. The Health Board had on its Board, four elected representatives from each County Council, twelve medical staff employed by the Board, and one person appointed by the Minister for Health and Children: making twenty nine persons in all. The Chief Executive Officer was their servant, somewhat similar to a county council.
The young mother was 14/15 years of age, and her unborn baby was almost 24 weeks (5.1/2 months) old. This young girl’s own mother was not allowed to be present at the abortion.
Legal cover was obtained at a Community Hall at the village of Killucan, near Mullingar. Again, the mother's mother, an essential witness, was not facilitated to be at the Court hearing.
So, it was all deemed to be legal and above board. on Monday, 15 December, the child was alive, and on Tuesday, 16 December, that child was dead. All at the instigation of a "health" board.

Family & Life's response, Caring for Pregnant Women and Unborn Children in Ireland in the Light of the ABC Case, explains how it is possible to provide the best possible medical care to pregnant women without directly attacking the lives of unborn children. It also highlights a number of serious problems with the Expert Group’s report, notably its failure to consider any options other than within the terms of the flawed X Case judgement, and its failure to give due consideration to ethical concerns, as mandated in its terms of reference.
F&L’s document covers the historical context to the current law on abortion, considerations relating to Irish constitutional law and international law, as well as explaining the various medical complications that can arise in pregnancy and how they can be treated ethically. It also explains the ethical framework that facilitates sound decision-making in difficult situations.
Family & Life points out that Ireland has a distinguished record in protecting the right to life of unborn human beings and providing world class medical care to pregnant women, and that this should be maintained. The vast majority of Irish people wish to see unborn human life protected, provided they are reassured that this will not have a deleterious effect on the medical care provided to pregnant women.
The Government has no democratic mandate to introduce abortion in Ireland against the wishes of the Irish People, the document insists, and a decision of such magnitude should be referred to the People in a referendum, in which they should have a clear option to prohibit direct procured abortion (while safeguarding current medical practice).

[Cropped from image converted from PDF]Song: Child To Mother
Verse one: Ever since I’ve known you, it was instinctive, so natural the way we were together. So close in love and comfort. So dependent on you, trusting of you. I relied on you to guide our paths to perfect completion, togetherness, perfect love.
Chorus
Verse Two: So gently I touched you deep inside when you were down. To remind you I was here, yours and alive with life for you, my closest. When we dinned, we ate of the same dish, drank of the same vessel. I’d tell you the dish, you would never refuse, preparing for me, our evening meal.
Chorus
Verse Three: I was always on your mind and you, surrounding my being. How could I think of anything but you? I wanted to think of nothing but you and being with you. Pleasant food followed by music. Our favourite album every night. How we grew in love, hours spent listening to them tracks that made us dance. I loved the vibe.
Chorus
Verse Four: But now we part, I’ve only known life with you. What’s gone wrong? Have I upset you? Please tell me my crime. How will I cope? What’s this sucking us apart? My love from me, me from my love, my comfort. It hurts so terribly, it’s cutting me to pieces. Oh mother, why? What was my crime.
Actual Chorus: So protected in love, (x2) Enveloped in your transparent love, nothing hidden in you. I don’t just feel your heart’s pulse, I hear it. Your voice so unique to my ears, I hear it like no other. I want no other but you.

Family & Life has launched a new website designed to provide expert analysis of the issues related to the Irish abortion debate. The site, www.abcandx.com, highlights the fact that Irish politicians who have resolved to legislate for abortion are setting themselves against the scientific facts. This is particularly so in relation to the issue of suicide. The government is proceeding on the assumption that abortion is a treatment for suicidality. The scientific research, however, shows that abortion is not a psychiatric treatment for suicidality. In fact, it increases the risk of mental health problems, including suicidality.
The new site has sections on the X Case, the ABC Case, the government’s Expert Group on abortion, and the relevant scientific research. It provides a wealth of useful resources, including links to important research papers, and videos featuring leading experts explaining the issues.
one of the greatest problems affecting the current debate is confusion, much of it resulting from misinformation persistently spread by those who wish to see abortion introduced in Ireland. Family & Life’s new site offers clear and accurate responses to their claims and should prove to be a valuable resource to all who wish to make an informed contribution to the debate.

The pro-life movement has been affected by tragic loss. Lifelong pro-life activist Mary Krane Derr passed away suddenly on November 30, 2012. An accomplished poet, Krane Derr had been invited to the Kritya International Poetry Festival in India to do a reading, where she fell ill. She was 49 years old.
Krane Derr was the co-editor of the book Pro-Life Feminism: Yesterday and Today, a compilation of feminist writing on the issue of abortion from the 19th century to the present. The book reveals the fact that early feminists such as Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton opposed abortion, in contrast to the mainstream feminist movement today.
Krane Derr’s research and careful documentation helped countless pro-lifers convey the feminist pro-life message in their speeches, articles, blog posts, and lectures, and will continue to be a powerful resource for the pro-life movement going forward.
She had also authored many pro-life articles in different publications, including the anthology “Swimming Against the Tide: Feminist Dissent on the Issue of Abortion”
Krane Derr overcame a lifetime of health problems to become a pro-life champion, talented poet, devoted grandmother, loving wife, and good friend to many. Her death is a loss to the pro-life movement, her family, and everyone who knew her.

Via: http://www.facebook.com/lifeinstituteThe United States marks 40 years of legalized abortion in all fifty states at any time for any reason throughout pregnancy tomorrow. That's the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.
Did you know, that since that fateful decision by nine men on the Supreme Court, almost 56 million unborn children have lost their lives. Since that time, there have been approximately 55,772,015 abortions that have destroyed the lives of unborn children.
That's nearly 9 times the current Irish population.
Looked at another way, that's 1.394 million abortions each & every year. It's 116,191 abortions each & every month in all 50 states. The maths breaks down to 26,813 abortions each & every week nationwide. & every day, that's 3,820 abortions.
Almost 4,000 children have died in America from abortions each & every day since 1973.
And that's just in the US ...
